How are Transportation and Infrastructure Careers Related?
Why have we grouped the two fields of Transportation and Infrastructure together? There are several important reasons.
First, FLH believes that Transportation and Infrastructure career prospects are exceptionally bright. Our roads, bridges and tracks are in serious need of
repair and modernization. This is needed not only to compete effectively in the global economy, but to ensure the delivery of essential services to our
citizens. Not to mention the inherent safety dangers of outdated Transportation and Infrastructure. We hear about accidents everyday that could be
prevented with the proper care of our infrastructure. Skilled people are needed in the growing fields of Transportation and Infrastructure development
to repair and modernize our systems, make us competitive, and keep us safe.
Second, FLH believes that the two fields are closely aligned and overlapping. We see transportation as an essential and driving subset of infrastructure.
One cannot exist without the other. Without tunnels, tracks, highways and bridges, our transportation systems would be severely limited. Alternately,
without the critical roles of

shipping, trucking and freight rail, the delivery of our nations' infrastructure would slow to a screeching halt.
Third, the development of clean and efficient Transportation and Infrastructure will help save our planet. It's easy for everyday citizens to "be green"
when the infrastructure is in place. Fuel efficiency is a key to our future, and FastLane Hires believes that public transportation is an obvious answer.
Fourth, there is a lack of obvious talent in Transportation and Infrastructure. In transportation, for example, we have a baby boomer workforce that is largely nearing retirement.
In combination, is the fact that the original wave of workers who joined the industry in 1964 when the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964 was passed, are
also now retiring. New, energetic workers are desperately needed to replenish this retiring workforce. FastLane Hires wants to help match these eager and
talented workers with these essential Transportation and Infrastructure job opportunities.
And fifth, we like to see people try to say "Transportation and Infrastructure" really fast, ten times.
