Do Drivers Simply Drive?
Car, van, and limousine driving jobs involve a lot more than driving. Drivers are often expected to perform maintenance on their vehicles, to keep them looking clean, and to keep accurate records regarding mileage and maintenance. In some driving jobs, you simply drive from point A to point B, but you may perform other duties, including the assembly or hauling of delivered products. Driving jobs may require you to wear a uniform. A pizza delivery person will not dress the same as a chauffer of a limousine. And the pizza delivery driver may just be the same person who will cook your pizza next week – so be sure you tip well!
In all driving careers, customer service skills are expected to make the ride pleasant and comfortable. Though many drivers enjoy the solitude of being in their vehicle alone, they are expected to be courteous, helpful and attentive when there are passengers on board. And in all cases, professional car, van, and limousine drivers are expected to drive safety and legally at all times. Your driving record is your resume!
